Things We Love…

Ibex T-Shirts

It’s a little brand you’ve probably never heard of and their shirts are not cheap but man do they really hold up. I’ve got merino shirts from at least 5 different companies – Icebreaker, Smartwool, Salomon, and Ibex beats them all for fit, for durability and for the number of days I can wear it without it stinking. It never ceases to amaze. Plus my wife looks smoking hot in their shirts!

Favero Assioma Bike Pedals

It just works. Having messed around with other cycling power products in the past I know that there’s a huge gap between the perfect working conditions and the reality of constantly having to debug and charge and reboot and troubleshoot things. These pedals move easily from one bike to another and while they need recharging – it’s a simple magnet and a charge lasts for about a month – more than enough to ride on. It gives left right balance on all head units and doesn’t need rebooting or calibration.

Lululemon Dance Studio Jogger

I am a big fan of jogging pants and these are by far my favourites - especially when I want to wear jogging pants that look a little nicer. I can wear them while working out but also during daily casual activities. I have them in a few different colours. They are comfortable, their light fabric makes them perfect for the summer and I wear a base layer under them in the winter. They have a hidden zip up pocket so I don’t loose my keys, They also keep their colour and shape.

Kuhl Ryder Pants

If I only could wear one pair of pants for the rest of my life it would be Ryders.  The pockets are perfect.  The dome button, the weight, they sit fantastic and they look better the more worn they get like Blundstones.  They also last a long time.

Yamaha C-40 Guitars

This is a great guitar for beginners. It is inexpensive enough that starting a new hobby won’t break the bank and they have the Yamaha name behind them so the guitar will stay in tune and has a nice enough sound. The nylon strings are easier on the fingers then metal ones so beginners can ease into playing and the fret board in a bit wider making finger placement deliberate. Once you start learning on this guitar the transition to any other guitar is very easy.

Arc’teryx Beta Jacket

I thought it was crazy to pay so much for just a shell but that just a shell has changed the way I layer forever.  You see coats generally do one thing well – they either keep water out (or in) or they insulate.  But great insulators break down when it’s raining or snowing hard.  And waterproof, breathable coats don’t insulate well at all.  So rather than get one jacket that compromises on one of these, the Beta is a larger fitting jacket that just does one thing really well – it keeps water out while keeping you from getting soaked from your own sweat inside like most garbage bag coats do.

I do wear it in conjunction with a Thorium jacket for -10 and below and an Atom jacket for -10 to +5 or so and it works absolutely brilliantly.  I know people say they’re not as good as they used to be but Arcteryx still makes the best breathing and insulating coats around.

Dunoon Mugs

I have a collection of these mugs and they are great! They are made out of bone china so they are really light. The handles are the perfect size for my hand and to top it all off they are just really fun! I use the Glencoe 0.5L mugs and each mug has a theme with a bunch of fun facts on the side.

Bose Quiet Comfort Headphones

I have an older version of these over ear headphones (Bose Quiet Comfort 45) and still love them. I use them mostly wired as opposed to bluetooth connection, as I use them mostly for recording, editing and listening to music. They are great sounding headphones. The noise cancelling is a go to for me as I can be in any noisy place, put them on and all the noise just magically fades away.
